ABOUT US
A historic hostel in Eryri, back in local hands
A Place to Slow Down
At Pine Oak Camp, we believe the best moments happen outdoors. Surrounded by the beauty of Forest Park, we've created a welcoming retreat where guests can relax, reconnect with nature, and make lasting memories.
OUR STORY
Perfectly placed, properly independent
Perfectly positioned at the foot of the Snowdon Ranger Path, The Snowdon Ranger Hostel is an ideal base for exploring Yr Wyddfa and the landscapes of Eryri National Park. We sit beside the tranquil waters of Llyn Cwellyn, a short walk from Snowdon Ranger station, with mountain routes, scenic train journeys and cycling trails all starting on the doorstep.
The house is now owned and run by a local family. That means a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, and genuine local knowledge to help you make the most of your stay — which route suits the forecast, where the water is warmest, when the train runs.
We reopen under independent management on 27 August 2026.
Inside the house
Refreshed, comfortable, unfussy
The rooms have been modernised through the summer of 2026: clean lines, good mattresses, proper storage and fresh linen made up for every guest. Some rooms have their own washbasin; showers and toilets are shared and on every floor.
Downstairs there is a communal lounge with a leather sofas, a dining room, and a self-catering guest kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook a real meal after a day on the mountain.
Reception is staffed around the clock and keeps a carefully chosen range of local produce, Welsh snacks, hot and cold drinks and other essentials — perfect for stocking up before heading out, or for after you get back.
